Hydro-Eakly picks up a win in extra innings

HYDRO — In the bottom of the ninth inning with the game all tied up against Lookeba-Sickles, Lotti Parker had an at bat and she hit the ball to second base.

The second baseman bobbled the ball and could not come up with it. Freshman Kylar Adams ran from second and Hydro-Eakly won the game 5-4.

Dillyn Coe hit a fly ball into left field and the ball was caught but Kenzie Rodriquez scored.

In the top of the second inning, Kira Berkey recorded an RBI single and Jasmine Salais scored in the bottom of the second inning. Rodriquez recorded an RBI single and Emily Sublett scored. Hydro-Eakly was ahead 3-0 after two innings.

Hydro-Eakly gave up two unearned runs in the top of the fourth inning. Lookeba-Sickles tied the game, 3-3, in the top of the fifth inning.

Rees Berkey hit a home run above the right field fence in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Lookeba-Sickles tied the game, 4-4, in the top of the sixth inning. Lookeba-Sickles got runners on in the top of the ninth inning with no outs but Hydro-Eakly turned a double play to end the inning.

Parker’s at bat won the game for the Lady Bobcats when Adams scored.

Hydro-Eakly improved to 6-4 on the season and they played in a festival at Mooreland, against Arnett and Mooreland. Hydro-Eakly’s next game is 10 a.m. Thursday against Elgin in the 2022 Best of the West tournament at Weatherford.
