MIDWEST CITY — Weatherford baseball competed this past weekend in the Bill Tipton Classic baseball tournament.
Thursday, Weatherford defeated El Reno 9-1. Friday, they lost to Collinsville 18-5, but beat Bishop McGuinness Friday 10-9. Saturday, Weatherford lost to Carl Albert 14-13.
Weatherford 9, El Reno 1
Weatherford scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and only allowed one run this game.
El Reno scored a run in the top third inning on an error. Weatherford scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Carter Teasley recorded an RBI single when he hit the ball to right field and Caden Hunter scored. Grady Chaplin recorded three RBIs when he hit a triple to right field. As a result, Cameryn Pruitt, Sam Hoffman and Teasley scored.
Reece Villines recorded two RBIs when he hit a double to right field and Chaplin and Nate Reherman scored. Jayden Minter recorded two RBIs when he hit a double to center field. Brett Bozarth and Villines scored.
Weatherford scored a run in the bottom of the sixth inning when Hunter hit a sacrifice ground ball out to first base. Reherman scored on the play.
Collinsville 18, Weatherford 5
Weatherford 5 Weatherford scored a run early before Collinsville scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Weatherford scored the first run as Pruitt recorded an RBI single when he hit the ball to shortstop and beat the throw. As a result, Bozarth scored.
After Collinsville scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning, Weatherford scored four runs in the top of the second inning.
Bozarth recorded two RBIs when he hit a double to center field. Teasley and Jake Vogt scored on the play. Villines hit a sacrifice ground ball out to shortstop. Kason Page scored on the play. Hunter recorded an RBi single when he hit the ball to third base and beat the throw. As a result, Bozarth scored.
Collinsville scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning and scored 10 runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Weatherford 10, Bishop McGuinness
Weatherford rallied in the late innings and tied the game to force extra innings, before winning the game from a passed ball.
Bishop McGuinness scored four runs in the top of the third inning and two runs in the top of the fourth inning and was ahead 6-0.
Weatherford scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Villines was walked with the bases loaded and Chaplin scored. Hunter recorded two RBIs when he hit a double to right field and Reherman and Bozarth each scored. Pruitt hit a sacrifice fly ball out to center field. Villines scored after tagging up. Hunter later scored off a passed ball.
Bishop McGuinness scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Weatherford scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Villines recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball to left field and Reherman scored. Hunter recorded an RBI single when he hit the ball to left field and Bozarth scored.
Weatherford trailed by two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and scored two runs to tie the game and send it to extra innings. This happened when Reherman hit a double to left field, scoring both Minter and Teasley. Hunter scored the game-winning run on a passed ball.
Carl Albert 14, Weatherford 13
Weatherford 13 Weatherford scored two runs in the top of the first inning when Pruitt hit a home run above the right field fence and Hunter scored.
Carl Albert scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Weatherford scored five runs in the top of the second inning. Bozarth hit the ball to second base and was safe due to an error. As a result, Chaplin scored. Pruitt recorded two RBIs when he hit a double to right field and Pruitt and Villines scored. Hunter scored on a wild pitch.
Carl Albert scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Weatherford scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Hunter hit a home run when he hit the ball above the center field fence. Hoffman recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball to center field and Pruitt scored.
Carl Albert scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Weatherford scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning. Bozarth hit a home run above the center field fence. Hunter recorded an RBI triple when he hit the ball to center field and Villines scored. Pruitt recorded an RBI double and Hunter scored. Vogt hit a sacrifice fly ball out to left field and Pruitt scored on this play. Carl Albert got two more outs off of strikeouts and beat Weatherford 14-13.
