Early Wednesday morning when most of Weatherford was asleep, Weatherford police officers received a call about a suspicious person attempting to get into a car.

This resulted in a high speed chase down Interstate 40, all the way to mile marker 69. Once the pursuit ended, officers arrested Taylor Charmayne Gore, 28 of Seiling and Mark Blake Baker, 34 of Yukon and both were charged.

“There was a person in a dark hoodie attempting to get into a car,” Weatherford Police Chief Louis Flowers said. “He did not get in, but he tried with a couple of other cars. This is when officers were called to check out the area. When we looked around, we saw a car parked and he checked it out. The car drove away very fast when the officer looked at the car. It was a stolen car out of Colorado. Officers started a pursuit down 8th street and eventually on Interstate 40, all the way to mile marker 69. Gore hit the barricade at exit 69. When officers ran the report, they discovered Gore had two warrants out for her arrest.”

Gore was charged with failure to stop at stop sign, reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle while license suspended, speeding 36 miles more than the speed limit, driving the wrong way on a one way road, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, failure to stop at a roadblock, attempt to elude officer endanger person, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of paraphernalia, possession implement of burglary and possession of mislaid credit cards.

Baker was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession implement of burglary.

Gore and Baker both are in custody and are scheduled to appear in court Friday.
