The Weatherford Regional Hospital Board of Trustees met Monday to discuss a financial update on the hospital, as well as a COVID-19 update.

Weatherford Regional Hospital CFO Georganna Buss gave the financial update.

“For the month of December we ended up with a net operating loss of $267,619. We do have COVID-19 revenues which will be able to offset that loss. Some of those revenues are inflated due to costs related to COVID-19. Year-to-date we had a loss of $217,215. We received an additional round of stimulus money which was $97,988.88. In total we have a total of about $967,000 in total with new funding,” Buss said.

CEO Brian Denton gave an update on the hospital’s COVID-19 situation.

“It is really difficult to look at our team who is working their tails off and they are wiped out because they just came from their departments and everybody is wiped out. It is going to be really difficult to track the prevalence of COVID-19 because of at home tests and unknown positive cases. It has been a tough environment for us, but we continue to come back every day. Rapid tests are hard to come by. I check every day to see if our order has come in,” Denton said.
