Weatherford city officials will pursue a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) after the Weatherford City Commission approved a resolution, 4-0, during Friday’s city commission meeting.

The money will be used to improve the Weatherford Municipal Pool Complex.

“The thought is to make some improvements at our city pool,” Mayor Mike Brown said.

Before the meeting, the city hosted a public hearing. No one spoke during the hearing.

The pool improvements were included in the Yes Weatherford campaign, Mayor Brown said. As part of that campaign, the city budgeted $250,000 for those improvements.

The city has asked for $500,000 from LWCF, which if approved, would be matched 50/50, Mayor Brown said.
