Friday at the City Commission meeting the annexation for J.C. Cowboys was approved.

After a 5-0 vote the City of Weatherford Commissioners voted to go through with the annexation for, as they call it, future economic development of the area.

Since the city decided to annex J.C. Cowboys the city water line will be reworked. City water is the most important reason for the annexation, because it provides fire sprinklers to J.C. Cowboys.

Since the annexation has been passed, the water line will be ran underneath Interstate 40 in order to get water to J.C. Cowboys. Mayor Mike Brown estimated the cost to be about $50,000. This not only will give J.C. Cowboys water, but also provides water for any other development in that area.

Once the water lines are in place, the plan for J.C. Cowboys is to have a wedding venue and possibly even a steak house in the future.
