Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Weatherford is working with Weatherford, Hydro-Eakly, Thomas-Fae Custer, Arapaho-Butler and Corn Bible Academy on a new program utilizing Air Evac.

Insurance Agent Jeff Carlisle said the program was presented to the five schools and will help with the protection of athletes during sporting events.

“Gary Winters, Wayne Halligan and I presented a program to the schools which will cover athletic events for the five schools. The program will provide an Air Evac for home and away games. During home games the program will be available for the opponent. It also provides protection for athletes while en-route to sporting events. Air Evac only covers sports events, but could expand in the future,” Carlisle said.

Carlisle also talked about the reasoning for Air Evac and the importance for the protection of athletes.

“We feel like it is a great program we can provide schools. If an accident or injury is to occur during an athletic event a helicopter ride will be provided if needed, this will result in a fast trip to hospitals. One of our main concerns is the safety of children and athletes,” Carlisle said.
