Western Oklahoma Christian School (WOCS) is offering a free semester of tuition for new families interested in the elementary school. This special offer is not a drawing, giveaway or raffle but a deal for all new students for the fall semester.

“WOCS wanted to give all families the opportunity to experience Christian education. We didn’t want the financial aspect to be a hindrance,” Jena Skarda, admissions counselor of WOCS said.

“We wanted to give families the opportunity to experience WOCS with little to no obligation,” Dora Miller, head of school said.

WOCS has three campuses located in Weatherford, Clinton and Elk City. Clinton and Elk City offer pre-k through 6th grade and Weatherford is currently Pre-K to 3rd grade. A bus route is available which runs between the three towns and coordinates with Corn Bible Academy, a Christian high school in Clinton.

All WOCS classes are kept small — 14 is the maximum amount of students for pre-k to 1st grade and 18 is the limit for 2nd through 6th grades. The school is accredited by the Oklahoma Department of Education and the Association of Christian Schools International. Skarda said families can expect a challenging curriculum for their students.

“In addition to the standard curriculum, each day begins with chapel where students recite the pledges to the American flag, Christian flag and the Bible,” Skarda said. “God’s word is incorporated in all subjects. It really is a partnership between the school and the families to help grow the faith of students.”

The deadline for the free semester is July 31. There is a $30 application fee, but those interested in the school can apply for admission on the school’s website at www.wocs.org.
