The annual SWOSU Athletic Auction is taking place August 20th but online bidding for the auction is already underway. Bidding is available online now through August 18.

Items like photography packages, vacations, hunting trips, autographed sports memorabilia, wine tastings and SWOSU merchandise are just some of the items up for grabs at this year’s auction.

According to Allison Hoang, the Advancement Coordinator for SWOSU Athletics, last year’s auction raised more than $200,000 for SWOSU athletics. “It is one of the largest fundraisers for athletes,” Hoang said.

“Each department gets a set amount from the banquet,” Hoang said. “The athletic department divvies it up depending on how much is needed for each sport.” In past years, Hoang played volleyball at SWOSU, so she was one of the athletes who benefitted from the generosity of participants in the athletic auction. This is Hoang’s first year working for SWOSU and planning the event, and she says she has enjoyed the process.

“It’s a rewarding feeling to know that people are wanting to donate,” she said. “People are always willing to give something for the auction. It’s been really fun.”

For those who wish to attend the event in person and take part in the dinner, individual tickets and tables are available for purchase. Individual tickets are $100, and tables are $1,000. More information about the event as well as tickets can be found at www.SWOSUAthleticAuction.com.

All purchased items can be picked up Tuesday, August 23 at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center at SWOSU.
