Similar to reports from across the country, Weatherford ,as well, has a shortage of rapid tests — this has been confirmed by local health officials.

National reports from earlier this week and year have shown a national shortage in rapid testing, due to a shortage of reagent, which is a substance used in chemical analasys.

Shortages of health systems have been a problem across the country. The problem is occurring from a low amount of chemicals needed in order to process the tests, also because the testing numbers have increased significantly since rapid testing began.

This has been described as a national shortage of supplies. The Washington Post reported that there were 15.8 million tests being taken in April and about twice that much in months since.

The current numbers for COVID-19 are Weatherford with 102 cases, Clinton with 88, Thomas has 11, Arapaho has 4 cases, Butler with 3, Corn with 3, Hydro has 8, and Custer City has 0 cases at this time. Custer County as a whole has 231 COVID-19
