The Weatherford High School marching band — the Marching Eagles — took first place in Class 4A this weekend at Pauls Valley.

Director Will Fairbanks said the band “really pulled together and marched as a team,” which is really important.

The drum majors and Color Guard also took second place in 4A.

The team performs 2 p.m. today at the Hub City Invitational Marching Festival in Clinton.

Fairbanks said the band took the comments from the Pauls Valley judges and are working to tighten up their formations and refine the performance.
