The Hydro-Eakly Lady Bobcats softball team has lost its last three games, dropping two games Thursday and a game Saturday this weekend.
Thursday, they lost to Mooreland 8-7 and Arrnett 5-4.
Saturday, they lost to Mangum 6-2.
Mooreland 8, Hydro-Eakly 7
The first inning was scoreless, but Hydro-Eakly got on the board first with a run in the top of the second, Jasmine Salis hit a ground ball to second base and was safe. As a result of the play, Casady Sublett scored from third base. Mooreland responded by scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the second.
Hydro-Eakly scored 3 runs in the top of the third. Rees Berkey hit a triple into left field and Macey Buss and Jaysa Slagell both scored. Tessa York hit a sacrifice ground ball, but Berkey scored on the play.
Mooreland responded with a run in the bottom of the third and scored 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth and Mooreland was ahead 5-4 after 4 innings.
Hydro-Eakly scored 3 runs in the top of the fifth. York hit a single into center field and Berkey scored. A couple at bats later, York and Lotti Parker scored after an error in the infield by the Mooreland catcher, giving Hydro-Eakly a 2-run lead in the fifth inning. Mooreland scored 2 runs in the bottom of the sixth tying the game at 7.
Mooreland scored the winnings run on a single with a runner scoring from third base to give Mooreland 8-7 win.
Arnett 5, Hydro-Eakly 4
Arnett scored the first 2 runs of the game. They scored a run in the bottom of the first inning and in the bottom of the second inning. Hydro-Eakly responded in the top of the third. Parker hit a triple and Buss scored. York hit a single into center field and Parker scored.
Arnett took the lead back in the bottom of the third by scoring a run.
Hydro-Eakly responded with two runs in the top of the fourth. Buss scored from third base on a wild pitch, tying the game, 3-3. York hit a ground ball, but reached first base safe an error. As a result, Parker scored from third base. Hydro-Eakly kept its 1-run lead going into the bottom of the fifth, but Arnett scored 2 runs in the inning to win the game 5-4.
Mangum 6, Hydro-Eakly 2
Berkey pitched in this game for Hydro-Eakly,. striking out two and giving up 3 hits. At the plate, she went 1-3.
Buss scored a run and had a double as she went 1-3 at the plate.
Parker scored the other run for Hydro-Eakly. She went 2-3 at the plate with a single and a triple.
