Fire Notes

September 26

The Weatherford Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the old hospital. Upon arrival, the alarm was sounding but there was no fire. After WFD made entry, they were able to restore the alarm, but the system still showed a trouble alarm. Hospital maintenance was on scene and advised there were going to work on the system.

The Weatherford Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, the vehicle was not on fire. There a was a luggage rack on the back of the vehicle full of cloths which has caught on fire but the Weatherford Police Department had used an extinguisher to put out the flames. WFD used the bumper line from the fire engine to put out the rest of the smoldering cloths. It appeared the exhaust from the vehicle had caused the back on the luggage rack to ignite. WFD then used trash bags to bog up the cloths and advised the owner of a U-Haul business in town they may be able to contact. WFD then gathered vehicle and driver information and returned to service.

The Weatherford Fire Department responded to an assist for Lifeguard but was cancelled en route. The Weatherford Fire Department responded to a call for a patient with low blood pressure. Upon arrival, the patient was sitting on the porch and stated she wanted to be checked out. WFD assisted the patient to the ambulance, where vitals were checked. The patient said she did not want to be transported and would have their dad take them to the hospital if they did not feel better. WFD then gathered patient information and returned to service.

The Weatherford Fire Department responded to a possible gas leak. Upon arrival, the tenant was out of the home and state it smelled very strong in their living room. They had opened all the windows and turned on the fans. WFD was unable to locate any odor. There was no gas service to the apartment. WFD advised them to call back if they smelled the odor again but still exit the apartment. WFD then returned to service.

The Weatherford Fire Department responded to a call for a person who had possibly taken something and was hallucinating. Upon arrival, the patient said he would go with WFD and got on the cot. WFD loaded the patient into the ambulance and assisted Lifeguard with checking vitals. Once ready for transport, WFD assisted Lifeguard with driving the ambulance to the hospital. WFD then took the patient inside and moved them to a hospital bed. WFD then gathered information and returned to service.

September 27

The Weatherford Fire Department was advised an elderly patient has fallen and the reporter needed help getting them up. Upon arrival, WFD made patient contact, and found the patient in a living room lying flat on their back covered with a blanket. WFD began assisting the patient who complained of pain everywhere especially on their right side and hip. WFD and Lifeguard laded the patient onto a scoop backboard and placed them on the stretcher. The patient was then loaded into the ambulance where WFD took their vital. Lifeguard then released WFD from the scene.

October 2

The Weatherford Fire Department responded to the Great Plains Family YMCA for an individual who had fallen and hit their head. At the scene, Lifeguard found a person sitting in a chair with their head wrapped up. WFD then assisted Lifeguard with gathering patient vitals. The patient then said they did not want to be transported into the hospital. The patient was alert and oriented. Lifeguard filled out a patient refusal and WFD went back into service.
