Darell Shepherd A Memorial Service for Darell Shepherd, 77, Weatherford resident, was 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2024, in the Southwest Christian Church in Weatherford, officiated by Mike Crow and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home in Clinton.

The family greeted guests 6-8 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2024, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.

Darell Gene Shepherd was born January 19, 1947, to Winford Shepherd and Dorothy Cabiness, in Clinton, and passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024, in the Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon.

Darell was raised in Clinton, where he attended Clinton schools and graduated in 1965. While in high school he played the trumpet for the Red Tornado Marching Band. He continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, later U.S. Air Force and then served in the National Guard for a total of 30 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant.

He began a long career in 1963, with Blunk Studio’s and retired in 2005. He photographed schools and individuals all across Western Oklahoma and part of Texas.

He was married to Debbie Sheward March 1, 1986, in Mangum, and they made Weatherford their home.

He was a member of the Southwest Christian Church in Weatherford. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and cooking. He enjoyed cooking out for others and often cooked for the college kids and the Oklahoma Highway Patrolman. Survivors include: his wife, Debbie, of the home; daughter, Shannon Shepherd, of Norman; sisters, Rhonda Cischke and husband, Tony, of Richardson, Texas, and Ramona Shepherd, of Clinton; and brother, Darwin Shepherd, and wife, Carolyn, of Elk City; two grandchildren, Dezrea D’alessandro and Carlie D’alessandro; motherin- law, Jo Sheward, of Mangum; brotherin- law, Rick Sheward and wife, Shirleen, of Weatherford; and special friends, Jordan, Kelsey and Creek Williams and their family, of Weatherford.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
