We became good friend as juniors at Weatherford High School. He was a great friend to every one . Weatherford and the world have lost one of life’s greatest friendships.

-David L. Tautfest

I always tell the story of Stafford and his Apollo-Soyuz mission we were fortunate to watch in Florida. Following the mission with the Russian Cosmonauts they celebrated later with a toast to lost friends from the mission and planned that the Russian vodka bottle would be finished by the last man standing. Tom was a great friend and one that should be toasted often.”

Reid -Ken

We have lost a hometown hero as most would agree. He was so good to Weatherford in a very humble way. I was lucky enough to call him a friend for 20 years. He made his mark on our city and the world.

- Mayor Mike Brown

We are honored to have both the Stafford Center and the Gen. Thomas P. Stafford Archives on our campus. He has been a dear friend to this university and the community and will be forever remembered for his incredible legacy.

-Diane Lovell, President SWOSU

General Stafford had a historic career and dedicated his life to service. His knowledge and skillset were invaluable to our state and country, and he will be truly missed. Stafford was a true hometown hero, and the Weatherford community was fortunate to witness his numerous accomplishments over the years. Our prayers to his family.
