Patti Jean Kitchens Hoeppner, 59, a loving wife, mother, Gammy, and sister, lost her courageous battle with cancer October 26, 2020.

Services will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church at a later date.

Patti was born February 4, 1961, in Royse City, Texas, to James and Loretta Kitchens. The family later moved to Weatherford, where Patti attended middle school and graduated high school in 1979. Patti attended Oklahoma State University and earned a Computer Science degree.

Her degree led Patti to a job in Fort Worth, Texas, at Color Tile, where she would meet her husband, Ron. They married April 4, 1986, and built a house in Burleson, Texas, where they spent 27 wonderful years. November 6, 1990, they welcomed their daughter Courtney. Patti retired in 2018 from ADP after working as a computer programmer for more than 20 years.

The Hoeppners were known as a softball family. Ron and Patti played intramural while at Color Tile and later when Ron worked at Ben. E. Keith, Patti, was even pregnant during some of those games. Many weekends were spent at the ballpark watching Ron umpire, field direct, and watching Courtney play ball. Patti also was a very talented artist and traveled throughout Texas to craft shows showcasing her talents.

Even though she attended OSU, Patti was a huge Texas Longhorn fan. She was known for her yelling at the television when the Longhorns missed a pass, critiquing the coaches, calling and leaving messages with play ideas, and incredible heckling skills, especially for OU fans.

In 2012, Patti tragically lost her husband Ron to cancer, and in 2016 she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. If you did not know Patti well, you should know she was a fighter. Patti was given two years to live and made it more than four years; she went through many rounds of chemo, radiation and multiple surgeries.

Patti was a grin and bear it type of woman who never complained and did everything possible to fight the disease. She was a true hero and inspiration to many. Patti will be missed, but her family is brought to comfort that she is with her husband, mother, and father again.

Survivors include: her daughter, Courtney Green and husband, TJ; step-daughter, Ronna Bolton and husband, Jeff; step-son, Rick Hoeppner and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Kenna Scheckles and husband, Nathan, Kelsey Sullivan, Alex Hoeppner, and wife, Olivia, Emilee Freeman and Juston Bolton; multiple great grandchildren; brothers, Ross Powell and wife, Kaye, Buddy Powell and wife, Diane, Phillip Powell and Doug Kitchens and wife, Dawna; sisters, Gladys Howell, Linda Evans, Pam Koss and husband, Gil, Kim Weber and husband, Lee, and Lisa Friesen and husband, Greg; many nieces and nephews; and her two special pets, Major Allen and Mia Jane.

Patti is preceded in death by her mother, Loretta, father, James, and husband, Ron.
