Clinton sweeps district slate against Weatherford

Weatherford baseball lost its first two district games of the season after Clinton swept the early-week series. Clinton won 16-6 Monday in Weatherford and 12-6 Tuesday in Clinton.

With these losses, Weatherford fell to 6-2 in district play and 11-6 overall.

Clinton 16, Weatherford 6

Weatherford baseball lost its first district game to Clinton 16-6 Monday, which snapped a four-game winning streak by the Eagles.

Clinton scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Clinton scored a run in the top of the third inning.

Weatherford scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning. Cameryn Pruitt recorded an RBI single when he hit the ball to right field and Brett Bozarth scored. Caden Hunter stole home in the next at bat. Jayden Minter also stole home.

Clinton scored four runs each in the top of the fourth inning, the top of the fifth inning and in the top of the sixth inning.

Weatherford scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Pruitt recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball to right field and Hunter scored. Carter Teasley recorded an RBI single when he hit the ball to center field and Minter scored. Pruitt made his way around the bases and when he was at third base, he stole home on the next at bat.

Clinton 12, Weatherford 6

Weatherford had a lead early in the game, but Clinton scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning

Weatherford recorded eight hits in this game and scored two runs in the top of the first inning. Hunter recorded an RBI single when he hit the ball to left field and Bozarth scored. Pruitt recorded an RBI double when he hit the ball to center field and Hunter scored.

Clinton scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning off a 3-run home run.

Weatherford responded by scoring three runs in the top of the second inning. Reece Villines recorded an RBI single when he hit the ball to right field and Nate Reherman scored. Bozarth stole home and scored. Villines also scored on a passed ball.

Weatherford scored a run in the top of the fourth inning. Villines hit a ground ball and reached base on an error. As a result, Bozarth scored.
