GRACMONT — The Hydro-Eakly Bobcats basketball team won their second game of the year by defeating Gracemont 82-22 Monday night.

“It was good to get a game in,” assistant coach Chris Graham said. “We did a good job finding gaps and moving the basketball. We hit lots of shots and rebounded well. I thought our transition defense was great and I liked how we got easy layups and pushed the ball well.”

The Bobcats were solid on offense as they scored 28 points in the first quarter. They kept the high intensity offense going and scored 56 points in the second quarter.

“I told the guys to keep working and to keep getting better,” Graham said. “On offense, I wanted to see us talking and continue to play. No matter who we are playing, we want to finish a full game.”

Hydro-Eakly did that and more as they scored 26 points in the second half and won the game 82-22. Carson Propps led the team in scoring with 22 points, Cade Berkey scored 16 points and Paxton Price scored 13 points.

Propps and K.J. Hoyle each had five rebounds and Nolan Gore has six assists and four steals.

“We just need to keep working hard and get better,” Graham said. “We want to play as many games as we can and we are glad to be playing basketball. In practice, we just need to keep getting better and not get complacent at all.”
