Hydro-Eakly run rules Hinton

HYDRO — Hydro-Eakly baseball picked up another win Monday afternoon at home when they defeated Hinton 11-3.

Hydro-Eakly scored a run in the bottom of the first inning when Trenton Coe scored on a passed ball when Paxton Price was at the plate.

The Bobcats built their lead in the bottom of the second inning as they scored five runs. Kaden Harris hit a home run. The ball hit the scoreboard and Caleb Warner and Carter Tharp both scored. Coe recorded an RBI single, as he hit a fly ball into center field. As a result, Xavier Sambrano scored. Coe scored another run off a passed ball.

Hydro-Eakly extended its lead to 7-0 in the bottom of the third inning as Nolan Gore hit a home run above the center field fence. Harris recorded an RBI single, as he hit a fly ball just above the second baseman’s head and Carter Tharp scored.

Hinton scored two runs in the top of the fourth inning, but Hydro-Eakly scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Gore recorded an RBI single, as he hit a line drive to the shortstop and Coe scored. Hinton would score one more run, but Hydro-Eakly got the two runs they needed to pick up another win in the bottom of the fifth inning. Carter Tharp hit a home run above center field and his brother, Kolsen Tharp scored.

Hydro-Eakly improved to 7-1 and hosted Carnegie Tuesday evening. Hydro-Eakly will play its next game in the Hobart tournament, which begins Thursday.
