It was the tale of two games for the Thomas-Fay-Custer Lady Terriers Monday and Tuesday.

Monday, Thomas beat Sayre on the road 16-1 and Tuesday lost at home to Arapaho-Butler 17-1.

Thomas-Fay-Custer 16, Sayre 1

A 12-run second inning helped Thomas get the win.

The Lady Terriers opened scoring in the top of the first, scoring a run.

Olivia Hampton drew a lead-off walk. Katelyn Jones reached base in the next at bat on a dropped third strike. Two batters later, Abbie Payne was hit by a pitch to load the bases with only 1 out. Hampton scored when Jerneigh Roberts hit into a sacrifice ground out. Thomas was ahead 1-0.

In the top of the second, Thomas got the bats going, scoring 12 runs.

Berekely Wright drew a walk to lead off the inning. She scored on an error before Sydney Hampton walked. Two batters later, Olivia Hampton walked to put runners on the corners with 1 out.

Sydney Hampton scored during the next at bat on an error before Katelyn Jones walked. Kaylen Jones walked and the bases were loaded with 1 out and Thomas ahead 3-0.

Payne was hit by a pitch and Olivia Hampton scored. Roberts singled and Katelyn Jones scored to make it 5-0 Lady Terriers.

Kaylen Yoder was hit by a pitch in the next at bat and Kaylen Jones scored. Wright then singled and Payne scored to make it 7-0 Thomas.

Sydney Hampton drew a basesloaded walk and Roberts scored. Both Yoder and Wright scored when Becca Proffitt reached base on an error. It was 10-0 Thomas.

Olivia Hampton then walked to load the bases again. Katelyn Jones was hit by a pitch and that scored Sydney Hampton. AnnMarie Cometsevah, pinch-running for Proffitt, scored on a passed ball during Kaylen Jones’ at bat. Kaylen Jones later walked. Olivia Hampton scored in the next at bat on a passed ball and Thomas was ahead 13-0.

In the top of the third, Yoder drew a lead-off walk. She scored on a passed ball before Wright walked. Sydney Hampton walked and two were on with no one out. Two batters later, Olivia Hampton was hit by a pitch and the bases were loaded with 1 out and Thomas up 14-0.

Wright scored on a passed ball in Katelyn Jones’ at bat, then Katelyn Jones walked. Sydney Hampton then scored in Kaylen Jones’ at bat to make the score 16-0 Lady Terriers.

Sayre scored a run in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice ground out. It was 16-1 Thomas. The game was called after 3 innings due to run rule.

Arapaho-Butler 17, Thomas-Fay-Custer 1

It was a completely different story Tuesday against Arapaho-Butler.

Neither team scored in the first inning, but Arapaho got things going in the top of the second, scoring 3 runs on at steal of home and 2-RBI single. It was 3-0 at that point.

After a scoreless third inning, Arapaho added 7 runs in the top of the fourth on a grand slam home run over the wall in left field, at RBI single, a fielder’s choice play and another RBI single. It was 10-0 Arapaho.

Arapaho added a run in the top of the fifth on an error to make it 11-0. Thomas’s lone run came in the bottom of the fifth.

Sydney Hampton reached base on an error to lead off the inning. Two batters later, she scored when Olivia Hampton singled. It was 11-1 Arapaho.

Arapaho responded in the top of the sixth with 6 runs on an error, a sacrifice fly ball out, an error, a batter hit by a pitch while the bases were loaded and a 2-RBI single. It was 17-1.
