Seiling tops Lady Terriers in opener

THOMAS — It was a tough start to the 2020 season as Seiling beat Thomas-Fay-Custer on the softball diamond 14-1 Monday.

Seiling’s offense got things going early, scoring 6 runs in the top of the first.

Those runs came on a 2-RBI double an RBI single, and a 3-RBI single. It was 6-0 early.

Seiling added 2 runs in the top of the second on a 2-run home run over the wall in left field to make it 8-0.

Seiling added 3 runs in the top of the third on a 2-RBI single and a fielder’s choice play. It was 11-0 Seiling.

The final 3 runs came in the top of the fourth. Two runs scored on an error and the other run on a sacrifice fly. It was 14-0.

Thomas got a little offense going in the bottom of the fourth as Jerneigh Roberts tripled to center field. She scored two at bats later as Sydney Hampton reached base on an error. This made it 14-1.
