Thomas finishes week 1-3

Thomas-Fay-Custer split two games at home Thursday, losing to Calumet 10-0, then beating Waynoka 9-4.

The Lady Terriers traveled to Geary Tuesday and dropped two games, losing to Fletcher, 3-2, and Geary, 5-2.

Calumet 10, Thomas 0

In the first game against Calumet, only able to scatter 4 hits in the game, while Calumet was able to score 10 in the 10-0 win.

Calumet got the scoring started in the top of the second, scoring 3 runs in the inning, with two coming on an error and a run on an RBI single.

In the top of the third, Calumet scored 2 runs on a sacrifice ground out and a sacrifice fly ball out. It was 5-0 Calumet.

In the top of the fourth, Calumet scored 2 runs on a back-to-back RBI singles to make it 7-0.

Calumet then scored 3 runs in the top of the fifth on an error, and the other two on another error. It was 10-0.

Thomas’ hits came with a Jerneigh Roberts single to left field in the bottom of the second, an Abby Payne single in the bottom of the fourth and back-to-back singles by Sydney Hampton and Katelyn Jones in the bottom of the fifth.

Thomas 9, Waynoka 4

Thomas scored in three of the four innings against Waynoka, en route to a 9-4 win.

Waynoka opened scoring in the top of the first, getting a run on sacrifice ground out.

The Lady Terriers responded with 3 runs in the bottom of the first. Olivia Hampton led off the inning with a single to center field. She scored two batters later when Payne hit a single to center field. Two batters later, Kaylee Yoder reached base on an error. Payne scored in the next at bat on an error before Berekely Wright hit a single, which scored Yoder. It was 3-1 Thomas.

Waynoka cut the lead in half on an RBI single, making the score 3-2.

Thomas scored 2 runs in the bottom of the third. Payne singled to left field to lead off the inning. Roberts hit a single to center field. Payne scored when Yoder singled to left field. Wright reached base on an error to load the bases with no one out. Roberts scored as AnnMarie Cometsevah reached base on a fielder’s choice play. Thomas was ahead 5-2.

Waynoka got within a run in the top of the fourth, scoring runs on an RBI single and an error. That made the score 5-4 Thomas.

The Lady Terriers put the game away in the bottom of the fourth, scoring 4 runs. Olivia Hampton opened the inning with a single. She scored on a sacrifice ground out by Jones. Two batters later, Roberts singled to left field. Yoder reached base on an error. Roberts then scored as Wright singled to left field. Cometsevah drove in both Yoder and Wright on a single to left field, making the score 9-4.

Fletcher 3, Thomas 2

In the first game against Fletcher Tuesday, Thomas tied the game late before Fletcher was able to win it.

Fletcher opened the game scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the first. Those runs came on a 2-RBI single.

Thomas tied the game, 2-2, in the top of the third. Sydney Hampton led off the inning with a single. Katelyn Jones was hit by a pitch. Sydney Hampton scored when Olivia Hampton singled. To batters later, Jones scored on a triple by Payne.

Fletcher took the lead for good in the bottom of the third, scoring a run on an RBI single. This made the score 3-2.

Geary 5, Thomas 2 In the second game, Geary took the lead early, then fought off a small rally.

Geary scored 2 runs in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice ground out and a passed ball. It was 2-0 Geary.

Thomas tied the game, 2-2, in the top of the second. Wright opened the inning with a walk. Cometsevah singled. Sydney Hampton singled to load the bases with no one out. Two batters later, Wright scored when Olivia Hampton reached base on an error. Then Cometsevah scored as Kaylen Jones reached base on an error.

Geary added a run in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice ground out, then added 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth on sacrifice ground out and an error. It was 5-2.
