The Custer County Board of Commissioners accepted a bid for a used water truck and approved an appointment request for the Western Plains Library System Board during its regular meeting Monday morning.

The board only received one bid for the used water truck for District 2 from Splash Sales, LLC, in Guthrie. The company offered a 2012 Peterbuilt with 29,355 miles, a new 4,000- gallon tank and six spray nozzles for $73,680. The board voted to accept this bid.

The board also approved the re-appointment for Beth Miller to the WPLS Board for a 3-year term beginning July 1. District 3 Commissioner Lyle Miller said this is his sister, but since the position is unpaid and the board requested she be re-appointed, he did not see any conflict of interests. This will be Beth Miller’s third term on the board.

In other business, the board approved annual agreements with Professional Compliance Services, LLC, which provides the county’s drug testing services; TM Consulting, Inc., which provides the computer system for the treasurer’s office; and Clinton Ice, LLC, which provides ice for the courthouse. It also approved annual agreements with Tulsa County Juveniles Bureau/Detention Home, Canadian County Juvenile Detention Center, Comanche County Juvenile Detention Center and Southwestern Oklahoma Development Authority.

The board approved a $100,000 transfer for District 1 from Maintenance and Operations to Capital Outlay to pay off lease purchases. The board also approved blanket purchase orders and purchase orders for payment.

The board approved five utility, pipeline and installation permits.

In unforeseen business, Emergency Management Director Mike Galloway said he will be closing out project for FEMA Disaster Declaration 4438, which is related to the heavy flooding in May and June 2019. The board also approved two officers’ reports.
