County to request APR money

The Custer County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution during its regular meeting Monday authorizing County Treasurer Janet Roulet to request money from the American Rescue Plan Act.

This is the first step in acquiring this money. Once received, the county will pass another resolution stating how the money will be spent in accordance with established guidelines.

In other news, the board briefly discussed operation procedures for the emergency management grant. This is at the request of Emergency Management Director Mike Galloway. The board considered having Galloway bring any expenditures greater than $500 before the board chairman, which is District 3 Commissioner Lyle Miller, and anything greater than $2,500 would go before the entire board.

As Galloway was not present, the board took no action at this time and will further discuss the item with Galloway in a future meeting. The board was notified

The board was notified District 3 would be selling some junk iron in the form of an old railroad car filled with concrete. The railroad car was discovered while the district was working on an old bridge. It was being used as a support.

The board approved blanket purchase orders and purchase orders for payment. The board also approved several permits related to the new wind farm project in Districts 1 and 2.
